This section provides you with an option to write your important and confidential text/information and instantly encode it.
1) Select the encryption Level: - Encryption Level basically sets the level of security (encryptin) to your file. It gives you following three options:
a) 128 bits
b) 256 bits
c) 448 bits
Note: - Our recommended value is 128 bit. Please note that Demo version does not allow 256 bit and 448 bit encryption.
2) Insert Unique Key: - After selecting the encryption level, you must secure your data with a unique key only known to you. This unique key acts like a password and application checks for this unique key while decoding the data. Alternatively, you can also opt for "Random Key" to generate application generated key. It is recommended that you save this key by clicking on "Save Key" button. You c an also use "Copy Key", "Clear Key" and "Paste Key" button to carry out your copy, clear and paste operations respectively.
Note: - The key length depends upon Encryption Level. Following are the key lengths with respect to encryption level you opted to select:
a) 128 bits - 32 digits key.
b) 256 bits - 48 digits key.
c) 448 bits - 56 digits key.
3) Write down your important information that you want to encrypt in the text box given on the application. The application gives you four basic options to assist you while writing text. These are: -
a) Copy from Clipboard: - When you click this button, the application copies text from the Clipboard and paste it in the given text box. This option is particularly useful if you are planning to copy content from some other location.
b) Paste to Clipboard: - When you click this button, the application copies all the text from the text box and paste it on the clipboard.
c) Clear Box: - To clear the text box and delete all the information from it, click on this button.
d) Font: - You can customize the font of the information given in text box by using this option. When you click this button, Font dialog box opens, where you can select font size, style, color, size and many other related options.
4) Encode :- After writing down the important information in the text box, click on "Encode" button to encode the file. Encryption Protection gives you three additional options with respect to encoded file. These are:
a) Self Decrypt: - When you select this option, the application generates a self executable encode file (*.exe) for you. The benefit with this file is that you don't need Encryption Protection application at the other end to decode the file. All you have to do is to double click this executable file and providing it the unique key to get access to the encoded personal information.
b) Save to file: - When you select this option, the application prompts you to save the encoded file at the desired location. All you have to do is to browse to the location where you want to save the file and click on "Save" button. Encryption Protection automatically saves the file at that location with extension *.epf.
c) Send via e-mail: - Using this option, you can directly send the encoded file to the e-mail address provided. When you select/check this option and click on "Encode" button, it asks for the e-mail address where you intend to send the file. The application uses your default e-mail client to send the file to email address provided by you.
