Following are the steps given below to encode your personal file:

1) Select the encryption Level: - Encryption Level basically sets the level of security (encryption) to your file. It gives you following three options:

a) 128 bits

b) 256 bits

c) 448 bits

Note: - Our recommended value is 128 bit.

2) Insert Unique Key: - After selecting the encryption level, you must secure your data with a unique key only known to you. This unique key acts like a password and application checks for this unique key while decoding the data. Alternatively, you can also opt for "Random Key" to generate application generated key, thus, saving you from hassle of creating your own key. It is recommended that you save this key by clicking on "Save Key" button.
Note: - The key length depends upon Encryption Level. Following are the key lengths with respect to encryption level you opted to select:

a) 128 bits - 32 digits key.

b) 256 bits - 48 digits key.

c) 448 bits - 56 digits key.

3) Add Files: - In this step, you need to add files that you want to encrypt. Click on "Add" button and browse to the folder where the file is kept. Now, select the file you want to encrypt and click on "Open" button to add it into the Source File(s) box. You can add more than one files, even from other folders too, by clicking on "Add" button and following the same procedure. To remove any particular file that you have added in the Source File Box, select/check that file and click on "Remove" button.

4) Select File Option: - Encryption Protection gives you three basic options with respect to files you want to encrypt. These options are: -

a) Delete Source: - If you select/check this option, Encryption Protection deletes all the selected files from their source location after encoding them. This option eliminates chances of accessing this un-encrypted personal files, after encoding is finished.

b) Self Decrypt: - When you select this option, the application generates a self executable encode file (*.exe) for you. The benefit with this file is that you don't need Encryption Protection application at the other end to decode the file. All you have to do is to double click this executable file and providing it the unique key to get access to the encoded personal information.

c) Send via e-mail: - Using this option, you can directly send the encoded file to the e-mail address provided. When you select/check this option and click on "Encode" button, it asks for the e-mail address where you intend to send the file. The application uses your default e-mail client to send the file to email address provided by you.

5) Select Destination Folder: - In this step, you provide Encryption Protection with a location where you want to save the encrypted file. Click on "Browse" button and select the folder where you want to save the encrypted file. Click on "Ok" button to save the folder location in Destination Folder text box.

6) Encode: - This is the final step. Click on "Encode" button to start encoding. When encryption gets finished, the application prompts with a message box displaying number of files encoded by the application.
