Search Form

You can easily search for any job definition using the built-in Search form.
To specify a request you simply enter your search values in the appropriate entry boxes. A value may start with comparison symbols (such as '>=' for 'greater than or equal to' and '#' for 'not equal to'). It may also start with the wildcard symbol (@) for an 'ends with' search. For example, if you enter '@website' into the Job Name box, Mergemill finds all jobs with Job Name ending with 'website'. Likewise, if you specify a search value of 'My@', all jobs with Job Name starting with 'My' will be found.
When the search form is first displayed all field headings are grayed, meaning that none of them is included in the request. Once you enter or change any of the values and press [Tab], the field heading color of that value changes to the normal blue color, and the field is included. You can force a field to be included or excluded in the search by clicking on its field heading. This allows you to easily search for empty field values.
Please note that all included fields are ANDed together logically in the search.
The options at the bottom of the search form let you further control how the request is handled:
- Search All Jobs is the default. It instructs Mergemill to search among all jobs in the Jobs table for those satisfying all the included field values in the current request.
- Search Selection searches among the current selection of jobs.
- Add to Selection combines the found set of jobs with the current selection.
- Omit from Selection omits the found jobs from the current selection.
