Jobs Input and Output
You may have job definitions that you want to share with someone else, or you want to input jobs from Mergemill's Examples folder and try them out. Whatever is your purpose, follow the steps below.
To output jobs to an external file you do these:
- Make the jobs you want to output the current selection.
- Choose the menu item: File > Output Jobs...
- Name the file that will be created to store the outputted jobs.
- Navigate to the location where you want the file to be saved and click the Save button.
To input jobs from an external file created as mentioned above:
- Choose the menu item: File > Input Jobs...
- Locate and select the file to input jobs from and click the Open button.
- As Mergemill inputs job definitions, it converts the MacOS separator symbol ":" it finds in all folder and file paths into "\" if you are running on a Windows PC, and vice versa if you are using a Mac.
Examples
Mergemill comes with several sets of application examples. They are all contained in the Examples folder installed with the software application. To understand these examples, you should
- open and read the ReadMe file,
- open the output files to see the results to be obtained,
- open the source files to see what and how the contents are provided, and
- open the templates to see how the text insertions are controlled.
After that, you can create your own application files, or freely edit the examples to adapt them to your needs.
To look at the job definitions, you first need to input them from the following file: Examples > job_definitions.txt
