Data Files
Mergemill keeps all job definitions and task settings in the data files. Whenever you run Mergemill, it will try to find the data file it last used at the same location. If it is not found, a dialog box is displayed for you to open the data file you desire to use. If you want to start a new one instead, click the New... (Mac OS) or New (Windows) button in the Open File dialog box.
On the Mac OS platform, all your data is contained within a single file with the 'data' extension.
On Windows, two files hold your data. They have the same name but different extensions, which are '4DD' and '4DR'. The first one contains the actual data, while the second stores the resources. Whenever Mergemill refers to the data file, it means the one ending with '4DD'. However, the two files must be kept and used together, and they must be identically named except their extension.
