Batch Edit Form

The Batch Edit form enables you to make identical changes to a set of jobs and their tasks easily, without going through them individually. If you have hundreds of job definitions, and thus very likely over a thousand associated tasks, this tool is obviously indispensable.
The top section of the form lets you change the Job Folder, Template, Output Folder, FTP Account or FTP Directory of each job definition in the selection. You must first make the set of jobs you want to change the current selection, by using either the Search or Select buttons. Please note that though the full path may be entered into the Template or Output Folder box, Mergemill will take out the Job Folder part automatically as it modifies the individual job definitions.
The rest of the form makes changes to the tasks associated with the set of jobs. Select Task Name and OR Field Tag enable you to specify the tasks to be changed. In the figure above, you see that we have used the wildcard symbol '@' as well. The illustration above applies the Source Text entry to all tasks in the current selection of jobs with their Task Name starting with 'Interface', such as 'Interfaces' or 'Interface Settings'.
The settings shown above also attempt to apply the Source Text entry to all tasks with Field Tag equals to nothing or empty. Since there is none, the settings affect only those starting with 'Interface' in their Task Name.
In all batch edit actions, it is important to remember that only the entries with a blue heading are included. The rest are ignored. So if an entry is empty and you turn its heading blue to include it, the target field in the jobs or tasks will be cleared. These actions cannot be undone, so be very careful. It is wise to backup your data files before performing large scale batch edits.
