Recording Preferences
Record all incoming calls automatically – check it to record all incoming calls automatically. Modem Spy will detect and log caller ID and automatically record entire conversation.
Answer a call in NNN seconds – Modem Spy will start recording in NNN seconds after last ring. Default value is 9 seconds. This setting should not be less than pause between rings. Otherwise Modem Spy will start recording after first ring even if nobody picked up local phone.
Notify remote party about recording – enable it to automatically notify remote party about recording. You can press Browse button to select certain WAV file, or Test to play back selected file via computer speakers.
Important. You must specify file in PCM 8-bit 8000 Hz mono format.
Answer a call in NNN rings – you can switch Modem Spy to answering machine if you enable this option. You should record your greeting message in Voice file field.
Record outgoing calls automatically – enable it to record outgoing calls.
How it works? Modem Spy will check out the phone line for dial tone presence. If dial tone could not be detected, Modem Spy will start recording. Because Modem Spy picks up the phone when detecting dial tone, there can be chance that sometimes remote party will get a busy signal when calling you.
Check for dial tone every NNN seconds – specify how often to check phone line.
Important.Your phone line will be almost always busy if you specify too small value in this field. Default setting is 30 seconds.
Important. You should disable dial tone waiting if this option does not work.
