Hack Attempt Monitoring
Monitoring (On/Off):
By default, this option is 'On'. This is a useful feature of Folder Lock and keeps a very close eye on any intrusions, attacks or hacking attempts made on Lockers. The program also prevents dictionary attacks by delaying during animation for a few seconds once a password is entered and the 'OK' button is clicked. If you do not wish the program to create a log of fake login attempts or perform the tasks given below, you can uncheck / deactivate this option.
What to do after 5 fake login attempts :
You can choose 'Lock PC' or 'Shutdown PC' options here. If more than 5 fake login attempts will be made to access your Locker, the program will automatically perform the task you set here. If you set 'Lock PC', the program will enter into a user log off phase and will require the authentic user to enter the correct password that he chose in the User Accounts in Control Panel. If you set 'Shutdown PC', the computer will shutdown automatically after 5 fake login attempts.
Fake attempt Logs:
Folder Lock will keep a list of all the fake login attempts made to access your Locker. This list will show the exact date, time and the Locker name that was tried. This is useful feature if you do not want intruders to try passwords or perform dictionary attacks.
