These are the technical specifications of the Trilent Mail Proxy:
Systems Supported
Mail Proxy is implemented as a Windows service. Services are implemented only in the pre-emptive Microsoft operating systems (based on NT).
- Windows NT 4.0 SP 6
- Windows 2000 Professional
- Windows 2000 Server
- Windows XP
- Windows 2003 Server
Mail Protocol Support
Mail Proxy passes both incoming and outgoing mail. All mail clients and servers compliant with these protocols are supported.
Outgoing Mail:
- SMTP - Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (RFC2821).
- ESMTP Service Extensions (RFC2554, 2034, 1985, 3463, 1846, 1652, 2852, 1870, 3461, 3030).
- Note: RFC2920 (pipelining) is not supported. This is by design.
Incoming Mail:
- POP3 - Post Office Protocol (RFC1939).
- POP3 Extension Mechanism (RFC2449).
- Note: PIPELINING capability is not supported. This is by design.
- POP3 AUTHentication Command (RFC1734).
- IMAP/POP3 AUTHorize Extension (RFC2195).
General:

Concurrent Clients
The Trilent Mail Proxy is a multi-threaded program. It supports 30 concurrent mail client connections in both directions (send and receive) without blocking and delays.
Concurrent Servers
Mail Proxy currently supports a single mail server. |
