Frequently Asked Questions

How can I block a specific port?

You have to follow these steps:

— Switch to Filters page;
— Press <<New…>> button;
— Name the filter (optional);
— Check <<Port>> radio-button and write the port number in the editbox;
— Select <<DENY>> from the Access drop-list;
— Press <<OK>> button to save the new created filter.

I am running a FTP server and Prisma Firewall blocks all connections to it. What do I have to do to let them pass?

All you have to do is to create a new Filter. Just switch to Filters view and press <<New…>> button. Check the <<Port>> radio button and enter the FTP port number(usualy 21) and <<Access>> must be set on <<allow>>. Press <<OK>> and it's done! One more thing: some ftp servers might use one more port(usualy 20). In this case you can make a new Filter for this one too, or change the existing Filter(the one we just created) to <<Port range"(20–21).

Do I have to disable Microsoft Windows Firewall?

No, you don't have to disable it, but it's no point having two firewalls running. Prisma Firewall provides you complete protection for your computer.

ODC seems to go crazy: i can't download xxxx, i can't search pics while prisma is installed…why…i do something wrong?

You cannot use it with ACTIVE connection. Must be PASSIVE because you are behind a firewall. Or you have to disable the firewall… which might not be a good idea. This actualy happens with any other firewall.

If you want to set ICS using Prisma Firewall then the answer is NO. In case you are wondering if Prisma Firewall allows preseted ICS then the answer is YES, but you have to add the following filter on the computer that shares the connection:

— IP Range: 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.255
— All Ports
— All Protocols
— Access Allow
— Priority can be Normal, we recommend Highest
— TTL Forever

If the firewall is installed on the client computers you don't need to set anything.
