Favorite URLs

Go to the Favorite URLs Function Module

  • You can click the 'Favorite URLs' button on the navigation panel to go to the Favorite URLs function module.
  • The Favorite URLs function module allows you to manage URLs in groups and to keep information such as user names and passwords required to login to the Web sites.
  • For consideration of information security, passwords are stored in encrypted format.

Navigation Panel

  • Favorite URLs can be managed by group. You can click 'New Group' on the 'Actions' menu to create a new favorite URL group. 'Other Favorite URLs' is the default group in EfficientPIM. If a favorite URL does not belong to any custom group, it will belong to the 'Other Favorite URLs' group. You can not delete or rename the 'Other Favorite URLs' group, or add a subgroup for it.
  • If you click the name of a group, favorite URLs belonging to this group appear in the favorite URL list on the right.
  • When you right-click the name of a group on the group list, you can rename or delete this group.
  • Drag and drop is supported when you manage groups. You can drag 'Group A' to 'Group B' to make it a subgroup of 'Group B'; and you can also drag 'Group A' to 'All Favorite URLs' or 'Other Favorite URLs' to make it a normal group (i.e. a group that is not a subgroup of any other group).

Favorite URL Display List

  • The favorite URL display list is on the right side of the main window. When you right-click the list, a popup menu appears. You can double-click a favorite URL to open it in the edit favorite URL window. If you double-click some blank space in the list, the window to add a new favorite URL will display.
  • If you press 'Ctrl+N', the window to add a new favorite URL will appear; when you press 'Ctrl+O', the window to edit the currently selected item will appear; and when you press 'Ctrl+D', the currently selected item will be deleted and moved to the Recycle Bin.

By default, passwords in the list are displayed in the form '****'. You can click the 'Hide Password' button on the toolbar to switch between display modes: to display passwords in the form '****' or in plain text.

You can manage the grouping of favorite URLs by drag and drop. You can drag a favorite URL in the list directly into a group in the navigation panel on the left.

Add New Favorite URL and Edit Favorite URL

  • The window to add a new favorite URL and to edit a favorite URL is the same.
  • By default, the password box in a new favorite URL window uses the form '****'. You can click the 'Hide Password' check box to switch between display modes: to display the password in the form '****' or in plain text.
  • After you have entered all the information of the favorite URL in the new favorite URL window, press 'Ctrl+S' to save it.
