Select Video Type
This screen is only shown for Video DVDs, Super Video CDs and Video CDs. If you selected the DivX format then it will be skipped.
This screen is used to configure the kind of video that is to be generated. The program needs to know about two settings: Whether you live in a country that uses NTSC or PAL video, and whether you would like 16:9 (wide screen) support or not.
NTSC/PAL:
There are two different kinds of video formats, depending on the region you live in. Video players on your computer will probably be able to handle both, but if you want to watch the movies on TV using your DVD player you should select the correct one.
Note that many PAL TVs can also display NTSC videos, but not the other way round. If your DVD player is "region-free" it will convert between these standards, so you may be able to use both.
16:9 (wide screen):
This option depends a little on the format you have selected.
+ For Video DVDs the whole DVD has one format, so you need to choose between 16:9 and 4:3.
+ For Super Video CDs each movie can have its own format. You can specify if you want movies that are already 16:9 to keep this format.
+ For Video CDs this option is not displayed, because Video CDs do not support 16:9.
